Six days are for toil and endeavor; however, the seventh, the Sabbath of the Lord יהוה your God, demands complete cessation of all work—yours, your family's, and even your animals' and guests'. For in six days, יהוה formed the heavens, the earth, the seas, and all that fills them. He then blessed and sanctified this day of respite, a reflection of His own creative rest and a gift to humanity.
