Let’s talk.....
SHABBATH
The New Strong's Expanded Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible (Red-Letter Edition, p. 271, Ref. #7676) defines "Shabbat" (pronounced shab-bawth, from Ref. #7673) as a cessation, a pause—the Sabbath, each and every one a sacred interval. The seventh day, it declares, is consecrated to Sabbath rest. Crucially, commentary (13) within the concordance establishes a profound link: the duration of the Babylonian Exile directly correlated with Israel's egregious disregard for the sabbatical year. This principle, applied analogously, suggests that the bondage of Abraham's descendants in America—a captivity lasting only four centuries, as Acts 7:6-7 indicates—was significantly shorter than the actual 469 years since their arrival in 1555 (2024-1555=469). This discrepancy warrants deeper theological reflection on the nature and parameters of divinely ordained captivity.
And יהוה spake on this wise, That his seed should sojourn in a strange land; and that they should bring them into bondage, and entreat them evil four hundred years.
7:7 And the nation to whom they shall be in bondage will I judge, said God יהוה: and after that shall they come forth, and serve me in this place.
For 469 years, we've endured stagnant circumstances. The searing pronouncements of the prophets against Israel's contemptuous disregard for the Sabbath—as powerfully depicted in Isaiah 1:11-15—resonate deeply with our plight.
1:11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD יהוה: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.
1:12 When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?
1:13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.
1:14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.
1:15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.
Malachi Chapter: 3:6,7 say’s....
3:6 For I am the LORD יהוה, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
3:7 Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD יהוה of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return?
Our destination upon completion of this journey – "Where shall our return be?" – is Shabbat. Our deviation from God's ordained practices, rituals, and observances reveals a profound spiritual deficiency. We misconstrued the sanctity of the Sabbath, failing to perceive its divine significance through the lens of God's will. Instead, we arrogantly pursued self-defined righteousness, mirroring the heedless disobedience described in Deuteronomy 12:8-9.
12:8 Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.
2:9 For ye are not as yet come to the rest (abode) ("Domicile) home of rest" and to the inheritance, which the LORD יהוה your God giveth you.
We remain shackled by American influence, our collective liberation a distant dream. Yahweh Ben Yahweh illuminated a path forward, yet internal discord festers, deeper than ever. A rampant ambition for individual power precedes any commitment to brotherhood and sisterhood. Many aspire to marital unions devoid of Yahweh's divine principles. Our political, economic, educational, social, and spiritual foundations remain tragically weak, crippled by our failure to unify our resources.
According to the New Strong's Expanded Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible (Red-Letter Edition, p. 271, Ref #7676), the pronunciation of "Shabbat" (shab-bawth) is significant. A detailed analysis (commentary 13) reveals a profound connection: the duration of Israel's Babylonian exile was inextricably linked to the severity of their disregard for the sabbatical year's sacred observance.
